Thank You

I am proud of the campaign we ran and I want to thank each and every person who supported our effort. During this campaign I engaged with Democrats, Republicans and independents and personally knocked over 3,000 doors. The community members I spoke to all agreed that we must make public education a true priority in Hamilton County.

Once again, I truly appreciate every person who supported me over the last year. I look forward to representing each and every person in District 6.

Meet David

David Sharpe is a 7th generation Tennessean born here in Chattanooga. He started working at local restaurant Big River Grille and Brewing Works as a teenager and after 19 years left as an executive bringing new restaurants and breweries across the southeast.

As co-chair of the Southern Brewers Festival and a member of the Riverfront Steering Committee he was integral in revitalizing downtown Chattanooga and raising millions of dollars for local charities.

We Can Do Better

We need to get smart about government in Hamilton county. Years of neglect, mismanagement, and short-term thinking have created problems that we must now tackle head-on. It’s time to make a real commitment to public education and to design a workable plan to meet our infrastructure needs, both now and in the future.

We are at a crossroads as a community and the decisions we make over the next few years will determine whether or not our kids and our community live up to their full potential. We can do better for our future, that is why I am running for Hamilton County Commission.

Bringing People Together

The County Commission needs to work together with the School Board and the City to solve problems in Hamilton County, pointing fingers at other branches of is not an acceptable solution to the challenges we're facing.

David wants to bring his record of working together with community leaders to the County Government to create positive change.

Investing in Public Schools

David believes that great public schools are essential to a thriving community. Hamilton County must get serious about giving students the resources they need to be successful.

This is one of the most critical obligations of the County Government, our success begins with great schools for our children.

Supporting Growth

Chattanooga and Hamilton County have experienced exceptional growth in recent years, but we've fallen behind in making sure we have a well-trained workforce. We have 10,000 jobs in Hamilton County that are unfilled because we don't have a qualified workforce.

We need to ensure that we are doing all we can to help our kids, our schools, and our community be successful. Hamilton County cannot continue to grow and prosper without broader success in public schools, safe streets, and a modern government with an eye on the future
